Mine and Mums ickle dog was attacked this morning by a Lurcher dog not on its lead......I wasnt there but Mum phoned me straight away so we could rush him them to the vets :-(

That's terrible Mersey - I'm not surprised you're upset. Hope your little dog is OK - was he badly injured?

Hope your dog is ok Mersey. Was the owner with the dog and have you reported it?

He was bleeding from puncture wounds to his front legs and also couldnt put his paw down to walk.......he was shaking and panting it was awful...The vet said there was nothing broken but that the bites had gone through his muscles...they injected painkilers....and given him antibiotics.....He has to go back tomorrow ....He is so shaken up luckily I live opposite Mum so was there within seconds.....

I wasnt there when it happened but Mum said the other dog came from behind and was shaking him.....she screamed and tried to lift his harness up.....which she did as she tried to kick the other dog off.......the man who the dog was with was far off and he just called the dog....Mum was then ranting at him and he just said two words F.Off and just walked away......

I cannot believe that some people are like that.........I am fuming...... :-|

Sorry to hear this Mersey and hope your little dog will be okay.If you can find where the owner lives prosecute him.

An incident like this happened to a pet of ours (although a few years ago) and the vet who attended to our dog sent his bill to the owner of the vicious dog.They shouldn't be allowed to get away with this. :-|

Some years back, my daughter & I were helping at a stall (for school where g.kids went to), it was very crowded on the market place.We heard a dog yelping in pain, saw a small Jack Russell in the jaws of a pitbull.It was being thrashed around like a rag doll.The very distresed owners ran with it to a vet, it didn't survive..poor wee creature.The owners were laughing, they found it great fun.No-one dared to speak up...they were extremely rough-looking...

Not much I can add to the above so (((HUG))) and I hope you find the man who owns the dog.

Oh Mersey thats awful and for him to reply like that to your mum. I would report the incident to the police and a description given if possiblle. The bobbies might keep an eye out for the scum.
It's heartbreaking to see one's pet traumatised in such a way. I do hope he's not hurt too badly and recovers asap.

To be honest Mau, Mum has never ever seen this other dog or owner before, and all she wanted to do was get our dog home and sort him out .....

I say our dog because we share him LOL....Mum has him a few days and then I do......

Its just vile that people who dont have leads or collars on their dogs and could do such a thing. and be so offensive and non chalont about it.....

Claddagh our dog is a ickle jack russel, daft as a brush and he is hes 4 years old but still looks like a pup .......

Understandable Mersey.Perhaps next time Mum is out walking your dog she should carry a big stick! bad owners get me soo annoyed :-|

Mersey, my auntie had a Jack Russell, it was a sweet creature, but barked constantly, used to drive me nuts.Every time I went upstairs, he kept up constant yapping.
There are 3 pitbull's around this area, they never have a muzzle nor are they on a lead.Very scary!
Hope your little scrap isn't traumatised by this cruel attack.

They are known to be yappy dogs Claddagh but I have to say we are lucky he doesnt.....Would say his only bad habbit is chasing flies , he will not give up till its on the ground and he can roll over it ....Weirrrrrrd ;-)

Sorry about your Dog Mersey, perhaps you may be able to get a "Cattle Prod" to take with you on your walks.it,ll work on the dog and its owner. ;-)
