Yes - on FreeBMD it drove me mad kept chucking me out and having to start searches again. Just gave up in the end.

But no problems on here...

Are you using Internet Explorer?

DazedConfused

DazedConfused Report 27 Jan 2013 20:39

Probably!

I have an icon on my desktop for Internet Explorer which takes me straight to my Sky home page

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 27 Jan 2013 20:42

um ok lol
Difficult to advise without knowing which programme you are using.
How do you get onto the internet?

DazedConfused

DazedConfused Report 27 Jan 2013 20:45

Via icon on desktop with Internet explorer logo and this takes me to my sky homepage sorry not very techie

Also thought my Norton would sort this problem out?

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 27 Jan 2013 20:48

That sounds like you are using Internet Explorer

Almost at the top of the screen towards the left hand side does it say "File...Edit...View" etc?

DazedConfused

DazedConfused Report 27 Jan 2013 20:50

Nothing like that on my sky homepage

Do not go onto any other pages, the icon just takes me straight to the sky page

Install Adblock - there are versions for all popular browsers.
It is free.
End of problem.

Here is the firefox version
http://adblockplus.org/en/firefox
and here is a similar product for IE
http://adblock-ie.en.softonic.com/

Not too sure - but I use Google if that helps

Do not worry too much

If you can not help

Tomorrow I will call the tech guys - I pay enough annually for them to do something in return!!!

Not sure if it's any help but there are tutorials on Youtube.

Good advice Rollo and good software but you should still have cross site scripting blocked

PigletsPal
If you want I will send you a step by step guide
Google is a website whereas Internet Explorer is the software (interface) that enables you to access it.

DazedConfused Report 27 Jan 2013 21:16

Hi I'm back
called the 24 hr tech guys they told me about the 'cog'!!!!! duhhhh

Anyway I am now more confused as my 'Enable XSS Filter' is already enabled, so is this why I am getting chucked out of FreeBMD occassionally as this filter is kicking in?

God I wish I was more computer literate!!!! :-S

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 27 Jan 2013 21:23

it means the XSS filter is doing its job and preventing potential problems

Andrew - good advice - you can also change all sorts of settings from there

As I have not seen this problem on any other sites I visit such as Rootschat or Facebook, could it be someone hacking through this site if so should it be reported to the GR team?
