Waaaaaaaaaaaah! :-(

I'm using MOTH's right now, and it's wierd, funny keyboard (have to bash it) weird mouse (more like a rat), and ofcourse I don't have my genealogy software (separate one from GR).

It might be the motherboard, or it might be because of the many power outages we had over the weekend (blame cyclone Oswald!).

Thank goodness I know someone who can help me retrieve all my stuff!

Apart from all that, what am I gonna do until the middle of next week? I might have to.............GASP............ SHUDDER.............. do housework :-P

Think positive Scozz ,you may yet find that Telstra has lost it's fibre optic cable too ,as well as your other communication problems :-( Fred.

lol

We have two computers in this house ~ MOTH's for work, which I rarely touch, and mine.

I'm hoping it can be fixed, or I'll have to get Windows 8! I had a run-through of W8 last year, and didn't like it at all; it's good for businesses but not what I need or want.

Ofcourse I'm not getting emails, so I'm not getting the latest freebies on my Kindle :-(

What did we do before we had computers?

:-D

Scozz - dont understand why you not getting Emails. You should be able to access your Emails from ANY PC. ie my son uses ISP Talktalk I use Virgin but when I'm at his place in Scotland I can still access my mails, same if I were to use a PC at any public library

If I get my emails (not the Hotmail) on OH's computer, they disappear from my Inbox.

I don't know why.

I can wait for a week.

lol

will pigeons fly from Oz to UK or NZ? :-)

I use MOTH's computer twice a day to look at GR. It's a weird setup, for his work.

A bit cooler here today, so I might do something different ~ ironing! :-P

Got a 'phone call about 10 minutes ago. The computer is fixed & ready to come home.

What was wrong with it? DUST!!!!!!!!!!

It gets the vacuum cleaner run over the top of it when the floors are done, but how are you supposed to clean inside it?? :-S

I'll bring it home tomorrow............ and make sure I get ALL my documents etc onto a Cloud.

Good thing I did the ironing today :-D

When my computer seized up our computer guru (4th emergency service) took it away to check it out - then sent a photograph of the inside choked up with dust! I don't know how to stop it happening again - I don't think I would dare to open it myself.

I am watching this thread for replies, re the dust problem, as I have had the same with my keyboard.
Hopefully someone will come up with a good answer.

When MOTH and I were in Eastern Europe, we had problems with keyboards jamming.

He picked his up, turned it upside down and shook it............ and cockroaches fell out. :-(

Every day after that, we shook the keyboards in the morning :-D

Outside the study window we have tree ferns, they drop LOADS of dust, so I'm keeping the window closed in future.

I have my dust free computer back <3

It's so quiet.

Re the dust ~ The computer repair man said we should switch our computers off at night. The fan?

I'll switch mine off from now on, except on Saturday night, because I get updates at 2am Sunday.

Now I have to move all those documents :-( just in case!
