I usually do the banking online on a Saturday. The benefits are often dated for Friday so I it is generally all there.

Because I was on the computer yesterday and could well have felt too ill to do it today I did the banking yesterday.

To my horror, the rent had gone out and it looked like it had taken up all the benefit and Fred's pension when I looked at the relevant reference numbers, and we were well into overdraft.

I made a little list of what we could not get by without and sent OH to Lidl with the money from down the back of the sofa and the card to use if there was no other option.

While he was away I had another look at the bank,intending to transfer a bit over from another account to minimize overdraft charges.

Overnight my carers allowance,the disability benefit,Freds state pension,his company pension AND the housing benefit have gone in.

I haven't thought to tell OH though!
