Brilliant programme ! Is there another in the dog series about dogs or is next weeks about the horse ?
....I had to get the tissues out too !

Dad had been without a dog for some time when my mum died,( they'd lost their dog and mum was ill so he wouldn't have another pup) but I persuaded him to have a rescue dog ,he was an absolutely marvellous dog .
He was as much mine as he was dad's, tho we lived 5 miles apart.
I'm sure the friendship and bonding between them prolonged my dad's life, he'd looked after mum for nearly 10yrs,and now he had to look after Sandy ( more like Sandy looked after him !! )
Dad walked him in all weathers twice or 3 times a day,( kept him fit ) for 12 years until he suffered heart failure and Sandy came to live with us cos dad was in and out of hosp and couldn't walk him.
We had him for 4 yrs when his health began to fail,he had some sort of fit and I stayed up with him all night. I took him to the vets accompanied by my son and dau cos I guessed what the vet would say ,and they wanted to see him alive for the last time, we had to have him put to sleep. He was an 'old man' nearly 18yr old.
A while later I realised that we'd buried Sandy ( he's in our garden) 4yrs to the date that we had buried my dad ....

Just as a matter of interest....when a dog shakes itself like the one in the programme it shakes from head to tail.

That is the tail is the last bit to shake.

Watch it and see.

I saw it too and thought it was brilliant !

Found that Harper (miniature Schnauzer...very on topic after the joke lol) is a left footer (no surprise there) and Fleur the collie is a right footer

The Springer helping out with feeding the lambs was so clever..tried to see if Harper would help me with feeding the guinea pigs but she was too interested in hoovering up the food LOL x

Talking of dogs.......

A lady found that her dog (a Schnauzer) could hardly hear, so she took it to the veterinarian.

The vet found that the problem was hair in the dog's ears. He cleaned both ears, and the dog could then hear fine.
The vet then proceeded to tell Andrea that, if she wanted to keep this from recurring, she should go to the store and get some "Nair" hair remover and rub it in the dog's ears once a month.

Andrea went to the store and bought some "Nair" hair remover. At the register, the pharmacist told her, "If you're going to use this under your arms, don't use deodorant for a few days."

Andrea said, "I'm not using it under my arms."

The pharmacist said, "If you're using it on your legs, don't use body lotion for a couple of days."

Andrea replied, "I'm not using it on my legs either. If you must know, I'm using it on my Schnauzer."

The pharmacist says, "Oh well then, stay off your bicycle for about a week."

I especially loved the story about the wheelchair bound chap and his dog aid? helper, both got hit by a car. The man was thrown out of his chair and the dog who was also hurt put him in the recovery position, took the blanket from the chair and covered his master and limped off to raise the alarm. He was awarded a medal. Dog equivelent of the VC.

LOL what makes you think I loved the prog :-D :-D :-D

Kangaroo Dundee is brilliant too, we watched it today.
I shall make a note of the horse one Barb.
There are some days I would say you could have our dog Barb, she is around a year old, we rescued her in July, and she is full of mischief
