Contact your MP to arrange a tour!

http://www.parliament.uk/visiting/visiting-and-tours/ukvisitors/tours/

When we took ours about 20 years ago, it cost £2pp for the Usher who doubled up as a tour guide. Obviously, the cost could have gone up, but its still well worth it. The offspring was about 8 at the time and learnt a lot.

Just take him on a boat on the river - he'll love it. He can do all the other suggestions when he's older, imo :-D

Yep Postmans Park, just around the corner from Barts Hospital.

A collection of plaques that commemorate people that have died in unusual circumstances. Not morbid at all.

Pretty pond, and a nice place to sit and eat.

The alley opposite the Courts of Justice lead to the Temple Church, dedicated to the Knights Templar. The Da Vinci Code was filmed there. Only open at selected times, but worth a visit, just to see how tiny it is.

Loads of things to do Stray, but how many you can fit into one day, is another question!

Stray, the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green is a great place to visit. I take my little man there every other Friday for an hour or so, it gives him a break from school work and he loves it.

Lynda is right about Postmans park and the pond is quite cute. :)

I don't know how many on here know a place called Postmans Park, it's just a short walk from St Paul's Cathedral, it's a most unusual place, very tranquil, but in the middle of the hustle and bustle, it's well worth a visit if you're nearby....
