Sorry I just can't stand the place, crowded, noisy, dirty streets, expensive and full of rip off merchants.

OH loves it up there but for me going up town is torment.

And yes I am a Londoner born and bred.

I'll send you some maps if you like, then you can find your way around, I have some left over from when I was Ambassador forThe Olympics. When you go to The NHM you're just across the road from Harrods, that's always worth a visit :-D

The number 11 is fantastic, I sometimes just go for the ride, I'm a big kid really :-D

I think Lynda has said roughly what I would have said.

Get a bus pass, or top up an Oyster Card. Dont go on the Tour Bus, they are too expensive.

Also the No. 25 bus goes past the Tower of London, Courts of Justice, Fleet Street, and on to Oxford Street.

ALWAYS go upstairs on the bus, you cannot see anything otherwise. Lots of cheap things to do in London, you dont have to pay a fortune.

Tate, Tate Modern and Royal Academy are free, but your little'un might not fancy walking around galleries.

Green Park leads on to Buckingham Palace, and you can picnic there. Kensington Garden likewise, if you take in the History and Science Museums.

Best tour I have ever done. I would recomend it to anyone even non fans, what an amazing place. We are hoping to take the 2 smallest Gooner Grandaughters later this year.

Stray, do what suits you. There is so much to see.

I do enjoy the galleries, I try to visit them at least once a year, and when there is an exhibition on, then I am there....................lol.

Tate Modern is the peculiar one, Tate Britain in more sedate.

Have you heard of the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green. They have toys from Victorian times. Then all the decades in between right up until now.

If you had a Sindy or Barbie, they will be there. Its free too!

I don't know how many on here know a place called Postmans Park, it's just a short walk from St Paul's Cathedral, it's a most unusual place, very tranquil, but in the middle of the hustle and bustle, it's well worth a visit if you're nearby....

Stray, the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green is a great place to visit. I take my little man there every other Friday for an hour or so, it gives him a break from school work and he loves it.

Lynda is right about Postmans park and the pond is quite cute. :)

I agree Joy, I love Chinatown too, but would a little boy? xx
