What can you see from your window?

I can see that they need cleaning.

Through the houses/bungalows I can see the school traffic creeping along the road and further away I can see Robinswood Hill. And a very grey sky. On the ground in the garden are two chaffinches and two blackbirds looking for breakfast.

Apart from them being in the same state as those of Prickles Babes, the trees at the bottom of the garden are in a horizontal position rather than vertical owing to a very strong Westerly wind that is howling. It is sunny though but bitterly cold.

I can see up to the Brecon Beacons in one direction and the Bristol Channel (just) in other direction across Vale of Glamorgan. Beautiful, sunny and dry day here so far - not even that cold (45C).:-D :-D :-D

And in the foreground are black bin bags with general rubbish and recycleable bags with tins or cardboard blown all over the road. Some of them have now been there since Thursday 24 Jan as we had no weekly collection that day nor Thurs 31st Jan. :-( :-( Whether we get a collection this week is in the lap of the gods :-( :-

Sun is shining, sky is blue, but the sea in the distance is hazy this morning. My two mimosa trees are just about to burst into bloom - they always cheer up my garden in February.

Squrrels on the bird feeders and horses trotting around the fields over the back.

And birds waiting for their turn.

The window of the study (where the computer is) I can see a bit of the front garden, lawn, tree ferns & various other plants.

The back of our house faces the ocean........ we have a glimpse of the Pacific, lots of green between us & the sea (often see whales during migrating season).

John ~ I had no idea that you got those temperatures in Wales lolol 45C? :-D

There's no such thing as a seagull!

Although some gulls live on the coast you don't have to be there to see them.

Oops. Think I made a mistake, Scozz. Blame old age. It is never that hot down here.

Think Pacific sounds even more attractive a view than a slight glimpse of the Bristol Channel several miles and half an hours drive away :-D But we do get seagulls up here, particularly when the bin men don't collect our rubbish.

from upstairs however I can see Caerphilly mountain with the radar station on the top - when I was growing up, for the first nineteen years - I could see the radar station from the other side of the mountain!!

If I stand on a chair I can see Castell Coch :-D

Island, there seems to be a problem here with Laridae - otherwise known in English language as seagulls.

I have called most Laridae "seagulls" all my life. Suspect others have also. Technically, you are correct. But you won't change us easily :-) ;-)

The top of the garden fence, part of next door's extension, the roof of a house which is 'round the corner' and a vapour trail in the blue sky; there are also has a few high clouds.

If I turn round to look out of the patio door, then our garden (obviously) and behind that, a flint faced farm house dating to a least 1590. The decorative chimney pots are one reason why we bought this home - something interesting to look at when washing up!

I wouldn't dream of attempting to change anyone John.

It says gulls OR seagulls in dictionary for Latin species Laridae. We (probably incorrectly) tend to call all Laridae seagulls. I bow to your expertise and have learned something this morning.
