I don't read the papers much or watch the news so correct me where I may have gone wrong, but did his wife bring it to the police attention to hurt him because of his affair, if that is the case then she is as bad as he is I M H O.

Just to clarify, Getting more than 12 points on your license is NOT an automatic ban,

If you plead your case, in exceptional circumstances some of which can be work related and or hardship you can keep your license but thats for the judge to decide

10yrs ago he was a European MEP so wouldn't have had the ministerial car at his disposal..but the rest of what's said I agree with....had he taken his medicine at the start instead of trying to dodge it he'd be well in the clear by now...now that medicine is going to be much stronger...oh well.

There are a lot of people losing their driving licenses today because they have strayed over speed limit, answered mobile phone whilst driving, not worn their seat belts, gone through a red light a micro second later than they should.

Ordinary people are losing their livelihoods because they cannot drive and therefore cannot get to work (two shopping buses a week on a Wednesday and a Friday from my old isolated village in south Nortnamptonshire).

So what on earth was this chap's problem. Sure, he would have lost his license for a couple of years and press would have had a field day - like they did when Princess Anne drove along M4 at about 300mph ( I exaggerate slightly for effect).

But did Huhne not have a Government car at his disposal? Did he not have a big enough wage to taxi or tube or train everywhere? Could he not have claimed that all back from us taxpayers? And what man or woman in their right mind would have trusted Vicky Pryce anyway?

seems that he had so many offences, he would have lost his licence.....so led him to skullduggery.........with the wrong person.......

what's the saying?

how the mighty are fallen?

PollyinBrum

PollyinBrum Report 5 Feb 2013 15:59

His downfall stems from what must have seemed very minor offences at the time. I personally have no sympathy with him, but I bet he wishes he had accepted points on his licence and paid the fine.

It makes you wonder, or maybe not, if they have any brains, but I think they are full of arrogance and think they are too important to go to jail.

Muffyxx Report 4 Feb 2013 20:00

How much has his lying cost the tax payer..up til last week he was trying to get it thrown out of court.

Hope they throw the book at him.

Just one thing after another :-(

But I suppose the security of the United Kingdom is not threatened like in Profumo days. All of these recent frauds and attempts to divert justice have been "small beer" in comparison.

Quite a good politico, but nowhere near as good as he thought he was :-)
