but just deleted it having read the news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-21346220 as the legislation is about the institution of marriage:

"The Commons voted in favour of the The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill, by 400 to 175, a majority of 225, at the end of a full day's debate on the bill."

Incidentally, the Bill has been approved by a pretty substantial majority

Peter Tatchell challenges all kinds of prejudice wherever he sees it. And has been assaulted by heavies for doing so. No one should doubt his courage. He tried to arrest Mugabe for human rights abuses. I don't agree with all of his actions or agree with him on everything but I admire his courage.

He has challenged Muslim clerics attitude to homosexuality and the suppression of women in the past - read his biography.

I've been accused of flamboyant behaviour in the past and I'm straight, John. I love flamboyance.

No stare from you would make me any less flamboyant and I doubt it did those at Gay Pride. We flamboyants are used to fuddy duddies disapproving and don't give a flying fig.

Why would yu give "them" a stare? Surely if the rally is peaceful they have the same rights to march and enjoy the march as any other group! Would yu give the stare to the edl for instance? would yu be big enough to do that? I have seen the march in Birmingham tooI have only observed a group of men who are happy with who they are- not ppl to be gawped at to wither their confidence!
Maybe the insecurities lie within yurself!

One thing that annoys me is people that claim they embrace modern attitudes towards non heterosexuals but then add a caveat.

May be why I like the theatre :-) a bit over the top, a bit extrovert, a bit "flamboyant"...all the things I'm not lol except in my secret soul. :-D

I have not been happy with the wording of the marriage vows.
They seem purely based on procreation.

Many couples do not want children or are unable to have them.

I believe if you find the right person and wish to make a committment, (hetro or gay)
then go to a registry office.

Once you have the legal piece of paper, you can then decide if you want a blessing from the church, which I don't believe should be withheld from anyone.
