I have both but tend to use Ancestry more...they are adding more records all the time there are other area's apart from London and Liverpool...Manchester, Dorset some part of Yorkshire ect.

Sometimes find if it cant be found on one it maybe on the other depending on how it has been transcribed

Thanks for your suggestions, trouble with going to local library is I'm not very mobile and it is two bus rides away and since my OH passed I'm a bit helpless in that respect. Will try the 14 day trial as most of the ancestors on OH side are from the Liverpool area. Thanks again.

You have a couple of options

take out a free 14 day trial of both and see which suits your needs (Ancestry is great if you have London or Liverpool ancestors)

or for Ancestry go to your local library and try it out there.

Both can be quite expensive, but are well worth every penny, if you have a birthday etc., coming up ask for your subs to be a gift. May as well get something you want!

Which site would you recommend, Ancestry or Find my Past. I have put this on Genealogy Chat but have had no response. I have got quite far back, just a direct male line from my grandson to 1600 but would like more info so need to go on census returns . All my research so far has been legwork and free sites not now mobile so dependant on internet. Thanks,May.
