This problem is not malware,

It happens through web sites and cookies, quite sophisticated but your every click is collected and analysed so my guess is that they have simply matched you up to a specific age group,

most web sites that promote/advertise services advertise dating agencies and as such they target the group most relevant to their product.

I looked at a car manufacturers web site last week (I'm looking for a new car ) all sites I've visited since that do adds have suddenly started adds for that make of car that i looked at including youtube and GR

ps
with malwarebytes it gives you a free trial of the advanced version when this runs out ignore the nags about upgrading it will still run in the basic mode which is all you need
update it weekly and run a fresh scan once a week or straight away if you open up a dodgy email

Hi Rose, no, only ever looked at Grannynet. I may be over 50, but don't regard myself as Saga material yet :-D

Terry, I'll try malware later :-D

Sharron - headhunted??? Not sure that's what dating's about :-D :-D

its more like being spied on
only good thing is i knew what i was going to get for xmas by all the ads that kept popping up
so if you want to buy a suprise gift don't do it online

Maggie, have you by any chance looked at the Sagazone site, or the other 'over 50s' site that was mentioned on here this last week ? I looked at both and then had the 'mature dating' ad come up.

terryj Report 10 Feb 2013 20:17

probably got some sort of addware on your computer
tracks where you have been and loads up related adds
if you download a programme called malwarebytes(its free) and scan your computer it will get rid of them and lots of other nasties on there as well

Do I keep getting ads for Mature Dating Agencies at the side of the page. Not on GR, but You tube???

The only thing for the 'mature person' I have shown any interest in, ages ago, but never did anything about was 'Grannysnet'.

I'm perplexed.
