supercrutch Report 12 Feb 2013 14:47

So we have:

Eldrick to test his faith
Simon Cowell to check his acappela tone when performng a Gregorian Chant
Gok Wan perhaps for fashion advice?

taking a quick look before we leave

Sue posted ...............

supercrutch Report 12 Feb 2013 08:08

I don't seem to have to justify my actions as Sylvia has reported part of the original again. Now fellow members can decide for themselves. By all means report something truly offensive to the RC church but none of the above fall into that category.

----------------------------

for the record ...............

I did NOT RR any posts on this thread as Sue suggests

I said I would not, and I have not.

so ......... please no further black marks against me.

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 12 Feb 2013 18:57

Sylvia please read reported as revealed, as in put in print NOT as in RR

*sighs*

someone has just started a thread - not happy with the fact that people are placing odds on who will be the next Pope - sounds good to me

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 12 Feb 2013 21:13

I saw that go up within an hour of the announcement..lolol I wonder if they'll receive wagers from the Vatican? they'd have a better idea who to place any money on ;-)

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 12 Feb 2013 21:16

MrDaff Report 12 Feb 2013 21:47

Oh dear, Oh dear........ how SO inviting to comment.....

Cabbages .... ah, the 'old' childrens TV quiz, damned if I can remember the name though :-(
Blancmange - well, I leave that to the two ladies who obviously know a lot more about the donning of leotards and leaping into a small pool filled with said concoction.

The Pope. Well, seems to be departing at a time when, and I stress imo, when the extent of reported child abuse within the RC domain appears to be ever increasing. Maybe, many years ago as well as in the not so distant past, many RC Bishops (at least) should have acted far more 'aggressively' to the charges raised. And that should have been at the insistence of the Pope, their boss.
Instead, i get the impression that so so much was covered up. Now that the filth is beginning to drip down the outer walls of this particular secular castle, protection not just of the perpetrators, but also their 'calling' is beyond one man. And after all , the Pope is just a man (once proven....!).
However, you cannot deny the man is ill and therefore his decision is probably justified; that his (as reported) closest aides knew nothing about it is interesting .. wonder if he'd come across something that didn't sit well with his faith, or innate honesty? We will never know.
I suppose he could have called forth another 'Crusade', to take others mind off things - counter the good o'l Jihad, what ?
Whatever, come 28 February, there are a lot of people who will become 'orphans-ish', so may need a bit of support (no doubt DWP will jump in should they be approached :-S) - anyone wishing to adopt a true 'orphan' will need to be a smoker, by the way, one who can tell the difference between grey and white.
One of the richest states in the world, unlikely to be hit by any global economic meltdown .... the Vatican. No doubt the pension is good if you survive being the boss.
As you may have gathered, I'm not particularly bothered that he has resigned, or who replaces him. As mentioned earlier, it will make no difference (though, with the 'lock in', choosing a new Pope is a lot quicker these days than in the past....yawn).

exciting it ain't :-S
