FootieAngel Report 13 Feb 2013 21:52

A few days ago a cousin and myself were discussing our grandparents and I showed her my only picture of our Nan. She hadn't got any of her and I told her I had none of our grandad. She has promised now to give me a copy of her picture and I have given her a copy of mine. Its strange that I remember things my grandad did and said but not what her looked like. I feel quite guilty about this as on the other side of the tree I remember exactly what my Nan and her parents looked like and although my grandad passed away a few months before I was born I have several pictures of him. I am determined my children should know all about them all so they in turn can pass it all on to their children and grandchildren and so on.

Am I the only person who cannot remember what her own grandad looked like? Its making me feel quite terrible I do hope my cousin hurries up with the picture I have tried everything to remember how he looked to no avail. does this mean I cared less for this grandparent than the others? Its quite upsetting really :(

I remember well my paternal grandparents and have photographs of both of them - I also remember my maternal grandmother but have no photograph of her
- have no idea who my paternal grndfather was as my mother had no idea who her father was - not that it ever seemed to trouble her, she had a great mother and lots of siblings and quite a few of them didnlt know who their father was

my grandmother was a sweetheart but a shade too liberal with her favours :-D :-D

I am anxious but also excited about getting a pic of my grandad. I really hope she remembers. I feel bad that I don't remember his face silly I know, but I have great memories of him x

Why did someone RR this??!!!! It was a perfectly acceptable post making reference to not being able to remember how a grandparent looked! I was about to add before that I only met one of my grandparent's, but am lucky to have photo's.

Why would a post about me forgetting what my grandad looked like be rr'd. This site is getting a joke n certainly not worth £20 (or there abouts) subs I have just paid. 36 ppl viewed the post and saw nothing wrong. Whoever is rr'ing needs to get a life. I put up a very poininant post with nothing offensive in it at all. Sad this site as come to this :(

Hopefully it will be restored. I can't imagine there was anything wrong with it. Somebody with a sad boring life if they get their excitement from RRing posts for the fun of it.

not condoning random RR'ing,

but many years ago,the song "Grandad" upset me,because it seemed to imply that Grandad was not going to be there, sometime,soon.......

maybe they are in a similar frame of mind?

FootieAngel Report 13 Feb 2013 22:43

Lol my Grandad was quite gentle really, I keep trying to remember his face it saddens me I dont want to forget about him all together. Point taken though the 'Grandma' song made me cringe x

eh?

I read it and it was a good posting. What a shame. Put it up again Mel.

If I am reading that right Bob..I see many posts about members missing their Mothers and putting up birthdays when she would have been 95 or whatever.

They upset me to be honest as I lost Mum in 1959 and I have very few memories so for someone to lose their Mum aged 70+ I think they were jolly lucky to have had the Mum for so long So I don't even look.

So are you saying that someone has a Grandfather who is terminally ill? or have I fallen off the wrong boat?

Was thinking earlier today that all the rr'ing had stopped. Everyone trying to be nice.

This one is so bad that Genes have got to discipline the rr'er severely. It must be very distressing, Footie Angel.

And the joke that Roy told is very funny and almost as innocuous a thread.

Yes, Genes must try to nip it in the bud. What a shame they can't be named :-( :-(

I saw this thread before it was RR'ed nothing wrong with it,

Time to remove the report button and have a new live system that gets immediate action i think

well I'm still waiting for my innocuous posting on Sue's thread to be reinstated - from the day before yesterday!!

and this one being reported is absolutely ridiculous

FootieAngel

FootieAngel Report 13 Feb 2013 22:50

Thank you Susan. Im posting from my phone so have not copied it. I feel confident genes will see nothing wrong and re instate it tomorrow. It just upsetting that people want to mess around with good threads. I have seen a few posts tonite and seen its been rr and everyones comments saying it was fine like the joke they cant all be wrong im sure the joke was fine .
