Cynthia Report 19 Feb 2013 17:12

Yes, 15 unopened messages - maybe she helps by pm but, that's hardly the point of the 'community' boards is it?

GR could have done with interviewing JaneyCanuck - now THERE's someone who knows all there is to know about research. Pity she's gone - but I have seen her busy helping elsewhere.

Porkie_Pie Report 19 Feb 2013 17:22

I wonder how much of the content is decided/edited by GR

as Cynthia said JaneyCanuck was very knowledgeable and plenty others who could certainly show me a thing or two but most have sadly left GR now

Silly Sausage Report 19 Feb 2013 17:30

Well done Suzanne very brave of you :-D

The only Suzanne I know is the Suzanne that lives in Wales but I am sure she was from Liverpool anyway its not important. I know there are a load of wonderful helpers on here and some not so. :-|

Like some have already said about adding as names as you can, personally I am not a fan of doing that, I like to be 100% sure and want some meat on the bones on my old reallies, I know that I am probabbly at a stand still going backwards but I do enjoy moving sidewards as well.

As for appearing I may consider it but I would like Kate Middleton to be dubbed over my voice as my voice and accent sounds like Vera Duckworth, of course when I DO get to be famous I will promote GR for nowt ;-)

Island Report 19 Feb 2013 17:35

Rambling Rose Report 19 Feb 2013 17:39

Rambling Rose

Rambling Rose Report 19 Feb 2013 18:06

PricklyHolly Report 19 Feb 2013 18:16

Yes well done Susanne.

Jolly brave of you i must say.

Island Report 19 Feb 2013 18:20

PricklyHolly Report 19 Feb 2013 18:44

Oh nooooooooo.....not you Island surely???

I hope you put yer teef in!!

:-0 :-0 :-D

Kense Report 19 Feb 2013 18:47

The tip about adding names was to not limit your tree toi the direct line. She did not, as far as I am aware, advocate putting information that is unresearched or about living people into the tree.

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 19 Feb 2013 18:55

I am sure she didnt Kense and I do understand why she advised it, its just the way I choose to do my tree but each to their own :-D

jax Report 19 Feb 2013 19:00

If added any of my cousins, siblings, parents or all but one aunt they would be living....and would need permission to do so....and I'm no youngster...infact its my birthday tomorrow so will be really old :-D

Porkie_Pie Report 19 Feb 2013 19:09

If your going to say on an official promotional video,

Add cousins, siblings, and their children to your tree on a GR,

Then it's only to be expected that people should be made aware of GR rules re permission to Add living persons is also stated in that video

StrayKitten Report 19 Feb 2013 19:20

well i think well done to her for having a go, very brave of her.

and i think there seems to be a lot of negative remarks on this thread that arent needed
