Well I am decidedly not impressed now.

Just heard that friend had a card to collect a packet from the sorting office as it was underpaid.

When she picked it up she told them I had posted it first calss and had proof of posting. The fellow behind the counter showed her the packet, no sign of the official printed 'stamp'. He said it looks as though it has been pealed off, probably to use on another letter.

So I shall be taking it up with our post office when I can get a form.

I was told a package was sent to me on Saturday and it arrived with me on Monday morning (from Yorkshire to Norwich) Have posted things first class one day and they have arrived next day altho my son sent me something first class on the Friday and it didn't arrive till the Tuesday, in the same city! I don't think the post is totally reliable but most times I am impressed.

Sometimes works the other way - I posted a second class letter on Tuesday afternoon and it was delivered Wednesday morning.

Makes you wonder doesn't it? And this after they increased the postal charges! :-)

On Monday at about 10.30am I posted a small packet first class to Oxfordshire address included the post code. It still has not arrived. I know they no longer guarantee next day delivery for 1st class and normally would send second class but the difference was miniscule. Over 3 days for first class.

I assume there is no industrial action on anywhere? :-( :-(
