Harper steals the cat food all the time .....nips through the door the children will INSIST on leaving open (grrrrrrr) and bolts up the stairs...only problem it gives her is chronic wind......but a bowl of porridge in the morning soon sorts it !!

:-D :-D :-D at the tin having large pictures of cats on. Maybe doggie thinks she is ridding the world of arch enemies as she is eating cat.

I am sure a few days won't hurt her BC.

Dogs are basically wild animals and will eat anything they can get their teeth into.
I am sure the dog will be fine but if she starts producing furballs and using the catflap she may have developed a personality disorder

What if he tries to make one?
A psychotic hound with a split personality can be very determined you know!

Molly dog is now over 14, she has always been fussy about what she eats, at times turning away from the same type of meat+mixer or complete food she had been happy eating.

Her back teeth are not good, but she might not make it through an op to remove them. To encourage her to eat I was advised to vary her diet as much as possible, including giving her cat food occasionally as it has more oils in it for her joints.

She has always enjoyed a little of our left over gravy, vegetables. I am now told that onions & garlic are toxic to dogs... :-0 Have I shortened her life?

I am sure that your dog will have come to no harm. :-D

Carol it is only a problem if they eat huge amounts.
If it goes out clubbing and buys a kebab with garlic sauce on the way home of a Saturday night then you may need to get it checked out.
Generally speaking dogs and cats are ok with most things - however, there is plenty of information about which foods and vitamins they should eat, usually published by, erm, um, oh yes - the biggest manufacturers of pet foods and vitamins.
