I wasn't going to contribute to this thread as any jokes about religion or even politics can go astray.

But ignoring the "noise" on the thread (bad night last night for some?) there are some really funny jokes.

The Baptist in Room 8 tickled me. Bit like the wealthy lady who became a committed Christian and built her own chapel and appointed an excellent preacher. People flocked to hear the word and before long the congregation was over 100 strong.

But people died and moved away and the preacher got older. No young people came any more. Eventually regular congregation was down to just two - the lady and her maid. One day the preacher said that he thought it was time to close the chapel. The lady was horrified "Certainly not!! I am still not sure that my maid has seen the light"

That is one reason I have not contributed. I cannot tell jokes like Cynthia and all you others :-( Good thread though if you skip past the "noise".

I am afraid our friend is annoyed with me over a debate on another thread which he didn't quite get the better of me. Dear oh deary me. to think I stuck up for him......I bet there are a few people laughing at my gullibility.....Hey Ho

Susan with numbers. You are quite wrong. I was not annoyed or even upset with you on another thread.

You wrote your opinion from your heart and you made a good point about nuns and priests making lifelong vows which has not yet been picked up on that thread and is vitally important.

And you have edited your post. And you have spoken about me as if I am not here. But not at all upset about that either :-)

perhaps I can put it another way. You have come on here to insult me again by your innuendos. I feel they were childish remarks and due to the debate which you insulted me in on the other thread. if I am wrong perhaps your remarks mean something nice and you would care to explain exactly what you meant by them.....Now that is not too much to ask, is it?

Nothing that deserved deletion Sue.....but I have to say that some people scorned are sulky little people ....sheesh......He has been insulting me left right and centre then comes on this thread to finish the job.....I am really upset :-(

Well I have to agree with you in this case. You are usually fairly balanced (unlike me) so you must be really miffed!

I don't think you'll win the point because it will drag on and on as per usual.

Sheesh....sure took the bait with you didn't I......You will note that I didn't RR you for insults toward me. beware others.....don't get on the wrong side of this person or get into a debate with him....you may be next ..He is always right and feels the need to insult people without repercussion.

hateful.....sheesh....GR when this is RRd could you ask the person mentioned to stop insulting people to the point of retaliation as there is only so much a person can take with having another persons condecending winding up thoughts rammed down ones throat at each and every post or thread. then when one tries to politely ask them to stop they are insulting and won't leave the other person alone.....Please ask them to stop insulting me GR. I am very upset with them twisting things to suit themselves.....this is not a hateful comment....It is from one at the end of their tether as to know how to handle such a person who will not stop with the insults and this by a person who professes to be religious but does the opposite when his views are challenged in a polite way.

That comment could not be further from the truth and is deeply insulting to me personally. Will not report that post as I have already asked for one post to be reviewed.

And if reviewer thinks I am over-reacting and reporting wrongly, then I will accept that and apologise to Susan with numbers. I have no desire for any unpleasantness with anyone at all.

that's a shame John. I would have liked the reviewer to have a full picture as to any remarks that you find insulting. Now leave me alone and go wind someone else up.....if you can find anyone that is.

And please feel free to RR any of my posts not just this one.

at this point I would like to apologise to other members who have witnessed my outpourings. this as you know is not the norm for me. please be aware that many of the posts I have been answering have been deleted making a nonsense of that which I write.

As for the other person .....I am afraid even a saint would be far pressed to stay sane when confronted with insults especially on another thread then again on here.but I forgive him. GR would need the full thread to be able to make a judgement as well as looking on the other thread. please hold me back if this person ever speaks to me again on any subject. there is only so much a person can take with deliberate goading with the intent of RRing a person when they retaliate.

Frightened to say any more. But I was not on this thread until latterly, never got involved in personal attacks against you, Susan, or anybody else.

And it was you who tackled El Jimbob at beginning of this particular thread when all he had posted was "Christian Jokes". Don't know how offensive OP was, but I very much doubt it would have offended me. El Tee very seldom upsets me. Near knuckle sometimes, but is often very witty.

Crikey. Was that the post that got so much attention last night? Thank goodness that has been reinstated. Not hilarious, but Christians are well used to jokes and that one is very gentle and quite funny.

Not sure, but I think Susan with's post has been reinstated too. So, whether she wants my apology or not, I will bow to the adjudicator and say I pressed the button unwisely. And sincere apologies to Susan with for removing her post for review. I did it for honest reasons and I goaded nobody on this thread.

Well there was naff all wrong with the OP. I was expecting bolts of lightning to hit ET.

What a huge fuss over absolutely nothing which prompted all the arguments on this thread.

Edit: Susan's post reinstated as is Bro's. All is well apart from the rest of the 'stuff' on here :-D
