I remember cooking Carbonnade od Beef for a dinner party in 1975. It was beef cooked in beer, with a topping of French bread coated with Dijon mustard. I was complemented on the tenderness of the meat, then I realised they had only helped themselves to the bread topping, not the beef! :-D |
