Its amazing how we keep finding these ppl. I found a lady a few years ago who lived next door to my g grandparents when she was a child. I remember them but I was v young when they passed away she gave me names connected to the family including the name of my g grandfathers father who I was able to verify his mother working for at the time of his conception, married later and was named on g grandfathers MC. This lady also passed on stories to me, I felt I knew abt them because of her.

I was looking at family for an elderly distant relative who said she remembered a 'few' cousins. She wrote them down and we had more than 40 names. I started looking at the family and so far have found over 60! It would have made a hell of a reunion. Sadly most have now pasdsed on.

Family History never ceases to amaze me and I guess that even though it frustrates me at times that's why I keep on doing it.

This week a cousin my age sadly passed away, he lived with his Mum and Grandparents at the end of my road. As he is quite young a lot of old school friends have been putting messages of condolences up. One girl left and message for his mother and his brother. Brother? I have never seen or heard of a brother! And I never thought to research one either. I was confused as the name she gave was the same as another cousin of ours - a mutual cousin and she estimated him to be the same age. I then spoke to my Dad and he knew nothing of this either. The girl insisted he had the same surname and was a different person to the other cousin I knew of that name. Imagine our surprise today when I looked for this brother. Sure enough he was there and his mother had the same maiden name as my Auntie so it wasn't an half brother but a full brother. We are grateful to this girl she has eased a lot of relief we now know my Auntie who is a long way off is not alone when she needs family most. I just wonder why no-one in the family knew anything about him. Or perhaps we did but got the two boys confused as they had the same name and sound as if they looked similar. Its a sad story, but I'm glad Auntie has someone else.

Also, has a result I found another 2 cousins of another Uncle who had been married before and his first wife had the same name as my best friend at school so it has opened up other avenues.

Sometimes when we think we have found them all others pop up to surprise us.
