Thank you everyone so much...Jean will be looking at this thread now and be so chuffed, she was always so pleased to get any messages from you all and the names l would real off to her and the collection l did, she was actually overwhelmed about that, so was Phil.
She is with her only child now, he died about 11yrs ago, far too young!!
l am sorry if you did'nt all know about the collection:((

It has been suggested that l ask GR if this thread can be stickied, so l did earlier and have changed the heading to make it easier for them to see. l have also changed the first posting.

l spoke with Phil this morning and obviously he's not in a good place, he has a carer in twice a day, she does the washing up, next door are brilliant and have already been in and Jeans niece will be there later, l will phone again later and see him tomorrow. He's quite frail now.

To Jude and Vic - I have no doubt that you both made life much easier for Phil and Jean with your love and friendship. I'm sure Jean was proud to have you as her friends.

Oh what sad news, my deepest sympathy to Phil and all Jean's family and friends, especially you and Vic, Jude, you will miss her, I know.

It was such a shame that Jean's last weeks had to be so fraught with pain and suffering, we can only be thankful that there will be no more of it for this lovely lady. Rest in Peace, Jean, life's work well done.

So sad to hear of Jean's passing, no more pain, sleep well Jean <3.

I have had the pleasure of being a 'penpal' or should I say 'email' pal to Jean for a while now. When we first started emailing, Jean suggested to me that she might be too old to be a 'pal'. ;-). Not in the least. She was a great support and enjoyed hearing about our life down under and about my family. I am so happy Jean got to see a few photographs of our daughters recent wedding.
My OH and I had the great pleasure of meeting Jean and Phil while we were in the UK. I am so happy we met in person <3..

My love and thoughts to Phil <3. You will be in bits, hopefully all the precious memories of a long and happy life with Jean will give you huge comfort.

To Jude and Vic, you guys are amazing with your love and support to Jean and Phil, thankyou ( and to Madoc ;-)). Such lovely lovely people :-). A big hug to you both from me <3.

I am so very sorry to read this sad news.
Jean has been in my thoughts alot these last few days, especially when I was in a nearby town, her birthplace.
Such a great shame that she had to endure that big operation, then fight infections, but it all became too much.

Thank you for all that you and Vic did for her to show you care.
Please offer Phil my condolences. He must feel so lost poor man.

I know there comes a time when a loved one's suffering is too much but it's never easy for the family and friends to accept that when it happens.

On behalf of us al thanks you for being there for jean, you were a great friend to her. I have to say that this doesn't come as a great surprise although i am still so ver sad that it ended thisway.
