Apparently she visited a hospital a couple of days before she got ill. Mmmmmmmmm I wonder if she picked it up there.

The Queen has left hospital :-)

Researching:
I have given up trying to find any information on (1) Mother of George Wotherspoon - he was born 1759 in Old Monklands. (2) When James Patrick Clusker born 1890 married Mary Ellen Bryant in USA. (3) Information on Thomas Wotherspoon born 1901 in Fife, lived in the Huddersfield area in 1952. Photo is of me in the cloisters of Iona Abbey.

Hope the Queen makes a good recovery. It's about time she took things a little easier.

I think its about time they kept the details of the illnesses of the Royals private, other than occasional up-dates on their progress. There was an in-depth discussion on gastro-enteritis on Sky yesterday. We all know the symptoms of gastro-eneritis.

According to the BBC site, she'd "earlier carried out a medal presentation at Windsor Castle, where she has been resting over the weekend.".

Hope the medals weren't the only thing they took home with them.

Not nice, what ever your age...especially if it takes you a while to get up and to the loo. :-(

The Queen has my sympathies I had Gastroenteritis just before Christmas and I was so ill,I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever felt so ill in my life. HM is a couple of decades older than me, and it knocked the stuffing out of me, I hope I never suffer it again. I did not eat anything for four days and did not leave the house for five days. I hope she will soon be feeling better.

The Queen has been taken to hospital "as a precaution" after suffering symptoms of gastroenteritis.

Her Majesty, who is 86, is being assessed by doctors at the King Edward VII Hospital in central London.

The monarch is in "good spirits" and is otherwise in "good health", according to her spokesman.

She was driven to the hospital around 3pm and is expected to remain there for a couple of days.

The spokesman said: "This is a precautionary measure. She was not taken into hospital immediately after feeling the symptoms.

"This is simply to enable doctors to better assess her."

All official engagements planned for this week will be postponed or cancelled, Buckingham Palace said.

Wishing Her Majesty a speedy recovery. hopefully it will be as the Palace says, that she is in good spirits and gone into hospital as a precaution, she will after all be 87 on 21 April this year.

Yes, as Kay says, very nasty.

As a child of about eight, I had left my Scottish island home, to live here in Derbyshire. Within six months I had Appendicitis, and went into hospital. I came out with Gastroenteritis.

What a welcome to the 'modern' world. What an eye-opener.
