fingers crossed for them. We thought that the mill had been bought by somebody but the staff have all been laid off so maybe not.

Dreams beds stores and jobs saved by investment firm Sun European Partners, saving 1,600 jobs, a day after the company went into administration.

Dreams still has 95 stores awaiting a buyer following Sun's purchase of 171 stores & these stores, which employ 400 staff, will continue to trade while a buyer is sought for them.

Thanks, she will struggle as she has worked there quite a while and she is very shy and lacks confidence and qualifications. She is also a lovely girl so do hope she can find something.

Sue Gloucester had many thriving charity shops which do serve a purpose for people who can't afford to buy elsewhere. There are also a lot of closed shops and yes, Tesco is moving into JB Sports shop and Coop is moving into Animal. We already have a town centre branch of Sainsbury's.
In the past we have had problems with street drinkers and, guess what? Tesco is applying for a licence to sell alcohol until 11pm in the worst area of town for homesess and street drinkers. :-(

We do still have the main stores M&S, Bon Marche, Debenhams, BHS plus the clothes shops such as D Perkins, H&M, Primark, River Island, and others so it isn't too bad.
Oh have a lot of pund/99p shops as well.

AnninGlos, I am very sorry to hear that, I hope she can find another job sooner rather than later and I wish her well as finding jobs is not that easy just now.

We went through our little town yesterday pop incl. immediate surrounding area 4,000.

There are 4 opticians (not viable) and 8, yes 8 charity shops!

All retail seems to be heading down the drain apart from the huge companies that buy up abandoned shops and stores in order to continue their world domination.

And Axminster took their subsidiary Buckfast spinning mill with them. My Grandson's fiancee lost her job yesterday. :-(

Yesterday Axminster went into administration and today Dreams could be facing the same.

More than 500 UK jobs at beds business Dreams are at risk with the company on the verge of administration.
