No, no, not me... I meant Puzzler :-S

You see a top for £97 but you don`t
have any cash, so you borrow £50
from your mumsy and £50 from
you dad = £100.
You buy the top ang get £3 change,
then you decide to give mumsy £1 and dad a £1
and keep the other £1 for your self'
You now owe mumsy £49 and dad £49 so
49+49 =98 and your £1 makes £99...

Where is the missing £1 ? :-S

Guinevere Report 7 Mar 2013 13:26

The pound isn't "missing" the puzzle is based on a false premise and bad maths.

It's been around in various forms for years.

My comp bunker is a small spare bedroom upstairs, and I have lost count of the times I have gone down the stairs, through the living room and into the kitchen then stood there and said to myself... "What on earth did I come down for" :-S

I have at times had to retrace my steps back to the Bunker so as to remember what I went downstairs for in the first place... confused thats me .
To whom am I addressing anyway?... Oh yes! Hello Barb. :-D

Can you shorten abbreviation ? Yes, to Abbr.

will you give the answer to the missing £1 before bedtime?...Yes :-D

You changing all the time makes it hard for my " who the blazes is that " in my brain syndrome.

BudgieRustler

BudgieRustler Report 7 Mar 2013 14:23

Barb aint got a clue, so I googled...... Wish I hadn`t ,I`m more confused than ever now

A false premise is an incorrect proposition that forms the basis of an argument or syllogism. Since the premise (proposition, or assumption) is not correct, the conclusion drawn may be in error. However, the logical validity of an argument is a function of its internal consistency, not the truth value of its premises.

Now ya knows dontcha, :-D :-D :-D

Ps, gone to change Avatar x x
