Do you want a pilot? Signal then to Jesus.

Jesus bids us shine with a pure clear light.

Different hymns that you never heard anywhere but Sunday school.

I was a clever little devil and went for a few weeks while I steamed through the study exercises. Had done well over a years worth in those few weeks.

That year, wouldn't you know it,the prizes were all given for those who had been there longest. Well I didn't ever staylong enough to get one of those!

Joy, Once I reached adulthood, I realised. ;-)
..at least I put my money in the pot.
Because the others were qite a bit older than me, I was still going, when they didn't have to, and as we moved so much, I went to many churches .
:-|
In Devon, my friend and I would see how many 'imps' we could stuff into our mouths and still sing, with our black tongues. Sometimes we overdid it, and went on to Sunday School with black lips, tongues and teeth :-D

I know Suzanne its frightening isnt it and she used to say I did it so quietly, even lately when she is having one of her moments my sister said she was constantly checking the front door to make sure the bolt was on to stop Hayley escaping :-D

They stated to send me to Sunday school and my sisters, but they'd drop me off and go to park but I went just to get the stickers :-D

We lived in a caravan when I was young (well classy, me) :-D
Mum and dad never went to church, but for some unknown reason, every Sunday, we children (ages ranging from 6 to 13) were packed off alone to church AND Sunday school after!!!

...mum said it was so she could do the housework in peace, but it looked the same when we got back......

I thought I would share with you my very first experience of going to church..
When I was about 4 or 5yrs I used to have a habit of escaping the house early in the morning before anyone else in the house got up I didnt often wonder far and often returned without anyone noticing but my parents used to despair. One Sunday morning I got up got my self dressed and headed for the front door there was a dining chair blocking my way, how helpful I thought I can now actually stand on the chair to open the door without using my bike. I wondered to the back of the houses where we lived and heard music coming from the R/C chruch , we wasnt allowed to go in there but my sisters and I would often strain to look through the frosted glass doors they had little crosses that were clear glass and we would try to peer in. As I got to the said doors a family was rushing in to the chruch late for mass and I just followed them in, I watch their ritual with the holy water and waited till last and did the same, stood up on my tippy toes dipped my finger in the cold water then touched my forehead then my chin and dabbed it behind each ear and followed the family to centre isle did a cursty and went in. I noticed one of our neighbours Mrs Smith, I went and sat beside her smiled and listened, when we stood up to sing she asked does your mother know where you are? Of course I repiled. I loved the singing I loved the singing whilst you prayed I loved the bloke in the dress lovely soft calming accent , I loved the warmth of the place the rich colours and basically the whole thing. When it was over Mrs Smith returned me home to a house that was in panic. It was decided that no harm was done and that was that.
The following week I did the same only no chair this time I had to drag up one on my own, the door to the church was open this time I knew what to do I repeated the ritual of the holy water did my curtsy and when to find Mrs Smith, only this week she wasnt so happy to see me, does your mother where you are only you lied last week, well she know this time was my reply, we were then shhhh and told to stand as the man in the dress and I think another man in a dress walked down the isle with a strange gold pot on a chain with smoke coming out of it, I was mesmerised again I sat through the mass again loving the singing and this time I remember some of the replys and prayers. When it was over Mrs Smith left me at the corner when I reached home the front door was wide open and I could hear my dad shouting " SOMEONE GO AND GET BLEDDING 'OLY MARY OUT OF THAT CHRUCH" I m here I smiled, this time I was marched in to the front room and he asked why do you kept going to the chruch you don't want to become a nun do you? No I said I just want to sing....the following week I got up as normal drag the dining room chair to the front door to find a new bloody big bolt right at the top that I couldnt reach :-|
