that's dreadful Mersey - make sure heads roll girl!!!!!

my daughter in law has been on nights this week - it's a ward for elderly mentally ill, male and female - sometimes it's busy, sometimes it's quiet - she told me yesterday that when it's quiet, she spends her time cleaning the treatment room and leaves it like a new pin - the rest of the staff clean the ward in general - this is because the domestics are rubbish

having said the domestics are rubbish - if you pay peanuts you get monkeys - bring back the days when the domestics were not privatised and paid by the health service - they had their own ward and took a pride in them - why should today's domestics give a toss if the ward is not clean - they are the lowest paid in the hospital and this should not be - they are just as important as the hospital manager and the doctors - they all play a part and should be treated as such

I am not in a position to make a judgement on all hospitals. Over the years I have had family members who have experienced some good, some bad, some deadful and some excellent.

Ann I hope you friend's daughter continues to improve on what is a difficult journey to full recovery, hopefully she will be ok. Glad you have some positive news re: your son, at long last; let us pray it will be sorted.

Paula I have to agree with you, I have had the best medical care due to the Nhs. Just the news I received before both upset me and annoyed me.

Im off to the hospital now to be with bf and his Mum. I just want to be there to give love, hugs and support.

my son's long awaited MRI scan - an emergency!!! - was eventually scheduled for 9:00 am today = he booked a day off work and his wife changed her shifts - telephone call 4:45 pm yesterday - cancelled and rebooked for Saturday morning!! well if you recall, when he was admitted to hospital on a Friday night they needed an MRI scan but apparently they were told MRI scans could not be done at the weekend - so how come he's got one for this coming Saturday morning I'm livid - so is he - I have not had one reply from any of the people I complained to - two letters to the hospital manager of the Royal Glamorgan, one to the leader of the Welsh Assembly, one to the Health Minister at the Welsh Asembly, one to Jeremy Hunt, Health Minister in Government and one to David Cameron - not even had an acknowledgement - these people - our so called servants are ignorant beyond belief and uncaring too!! Rant over

Ann, what dreadful 'service' your son is getting, it really is unacceptable to be messed around so much. Have you contacted a local Councillor who might take things up with the necessary ministers? I hope his appointment goes ahead on Saturday.

O.h.'s sister works at our local hospital, big PFI place only a few years old. She works in a secretarial position I think, defo not nursing, but works on Saturdays and Sundays to catch up with backlog of work.

I am just glad that the few times my parents were in hospital or the hospice for my Dad, they were treated well, couldn't fault the care they had but it was in the late 1980s and 1990s.

Mersey, yet again a patient seems to have been neglected and is paying the price, so sad to see family members treated so badly especially in their latter years.

I think the cleaners in hospitals are mostly from other countries because they will accept the poor pay, but I don't think they understand the way of proper cleaning so standards have slipped.

AnnC I hope your son gets the treatment he needs as quickly as possible and that the hospital can sort his problem after all this time. I hope you are OK too. :-)

well would you Adam and Eve it - yesterday I had a reply from the Royal Glamorgan Hospital regarding my concerns about my son's appalling treatment - a letter I sent on the 4th March. He has still not had his op which was promised within four to six weeks - they say they will investigate the matter fully - we'll see

The only other response I had to the raft of letters I sent out was from David Cameron!!

Since the MRI scan he had a recurrence of the abscess which was zapped with antibiotics yet again and at the moment is dealing with yet another one

forgot to add, my friend's daughter is doing well after her double mastectomy but at the moment has lost nearly all her hair but is keeping so very positive - bless her

Good news there then Ann, hope she stays positive and things go well for her.

Hope your son gets his op soon, his quality of life is compromised at the mo, isn't it?
