Merlin, it would be a Hanging Offence, can you imagine the reaction of going into a decent old fashioned Scottish pub and asking for a large malt with a sprinkling of lemon rind on it :-D :-D :-D

I used to like a slice of lemon in a gin and tonic - but I developed an allergy to the main ingredient - juniper berries :-( :-( :-(

Same as you Paula, have sliced and frozen on a tray for years, also limes. I've had a bagful in the freezer since before xmas, have gone off G&T. Will try to use it in cooking!! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

P.S. It would ruin the whisky...

Dealing with lemons, and rinds, is just a case of pithing around ;-)

I'm just wondering if liquidising the whole lemon and then freezing would be any good ...at least for hot drinks

I love lemons (lemonade, lemon pudding, lemon marmalade etc etc), but I would NEVER put lemon in a nippy sweetie :-)

If I feel a sniffle coming on, I might have a hot lemon drink with a dash of whisky........ it might not help with the sniffles, but it makes me feel better :-D. If I have two or more I don't care.

Anyone want a recipe for whisky marmalade?

:-D
