PP my problem is I don't know very much about any of the testing they were doing but having said that you're right, it was all very plausible and sensible

As least he does not spout silly 'hippy' nonsense just clear statements which are set in the facts in what has been found. And his suppositions are far more plausible than some of the tripe around.

The Victorians and their idea have a lot to answer for. They have skewed how this site is looked at for years and then add in the silly Yanks and their ideas 'aliens etc' and then you descend into the realms of the utterly ridiculous.

Oooh I sounded very straight laced then!!! I love all the counter culture stuff but am able to look at that as just fluff which has no evientiary proof.

I'm glad someone else watched and enjoyed it. Mike Parker Pearson was very clear and watchable but I would quite liked to have heard other input agreeing or disagreeing.

I watched this last night (Tues) and found it absolutely fascinating.

Mike. Parker Pearson has made such progresss in his work around Stonehenge and all its associated monuments in helping to understand the whole history of this wonderful monument.

That's right...but that isn't mostly what this programme was about

I,m talking about how they got the actual stones there, different ideas etc and why.plus if they were anything to do with "Lay Lines" as there was (Theoretically) another Henge not far away, made out of timber and the smaller rings of stone in the area.**M**

I doubt that, Merlin. This programme was putting forward new theories based on new evidence...scientists have been testing remains which last saw the light 70 odd years ago....amazing what tests on bones and animal teeth and so on can yield. All this adds to our history on a wider scale.

Ther have over the years been many programmes and theories about it,most very interesting,I think its time it was left alone or it will cease to exist as something special in our history.**M**.

Did anyone watch this? I'm catching up with it now while I have an hour to myself and its fascinating. I would like other perspectives on the theories other than the one professor's but that might come later
