Whilst I am sure the message over the tannoy was only meant at a joke, to my mind it is bullying and thus encourages the other inmates to think he is free game.

If I had been the governor of that prison that warden would have been up on a reprimand.

I am sure he will get much worse, in fact as said before in a previous part of this thread he has requested a move because of demands for money being made of him from other prisoners, but I would have expected a more professional attitude from the staff.

Sorry if I sound like I am feeling sorry for him, as I think he got all he deserves with this sentence, but I do believe that bullying in any form to any person is wrong.

I thought the tannoy announcement was a joke doing the rounds, having not seen it on a news report.

If the announcement was really made, then I think it's something that should be dealt with by the Governor of the Prison. Wardens are not meant to taunt prisoners especially those who have only just begun their sentence and not used to the system anyway. I am in no way defending Huhne, he deserves all he got but I think Wardens/Prison officers should behave properly, they won't get respect if they behave like that and it will encourage bullying from the prisoners, knowing the Warden is taking the mickey too.
