Cut her some slack. Any sort of a slammer is quite a downer for most people - you should see the first time drunk drivers doing just one night in the cells totally scared. The whole point of prison is to deprive people of their freedom not their humanity.

Huhne has treated her in an abysmal way. Sure she should have not allowed him to bully her into taking the points and her method of revenge was ill considered. Most people would get pretty mad if their OH trekked off like that, especially considering his choice.

She made a second very poor decision which was to plead not guilty. If she had done so then she would only have got a suspended sentence.

She is very good at her job and well regarded and will not be long looking for employment though probably not with HMG.

fwiw I thought C.H. sentence much too light. It should have kept him actually banged up for a year.

I wouldn't be coping very well going in prison either.

I don't know if anyone, who has never stepped foot in prison, can imagine what it is REALLY like when those big doors shut behind you, you're away from family, all the little things you took for granted , gone.

You may think that's what some people deserve, and maybe they do, but I have compassion for Vicky Pryce, not for what she did, she deserves a punishment, but I'm not sorry she is in an open prison.

I predicted an they will both be put in an open prision at the time,,,,,,,,then low and behold VP brother a few days later said his sister wasnt coping well and was FRAIL,,,,,,,that confirmed my inital thoughts an open prision,,,,,,,he will be next.

Big hefty fines with all costs and some community work.

Still think the same though.

Nohting of the kind -in fact if it had not been her we would never have heard about it.

As said before it is common practice to move short term prisoners out of long term prisons.

As she is considered a low level criminal it is standard procedure for those like her in jail to be moved to an open prison.

She was lucky however, not to be moved to one at the other end of the country away from her family.

She'll probably get a job as a trusty, !!!!!

She doesn't exactly have the most non-descript of faces lol

She will be recognised, the Prison Officers will make sure of that.

Yes - a stiff fine for her, maybe a fine and prison sentence for him.

She'll be out after serving - what is it, about 1/3rd of her sentence, or is it the other way around? So roughly 10 weeks from sentencing. She'll probably get stick from the others if they recognise her.

People often criticise the prison system but it is not as "comfy" as people would believe.

I agree with Sue, a fine and curfew would have been more fitting. Vicky Pryce, isn't a threat to anyone, so her being inside is a waste of taxpayers money.


Having visited, and worked within the prison system, I wouldn't want to do time anywhere. I don't know any prison that's comfy.

I think that is fairly normal procedure.
My understanding is that prisoners are moved on after a few days.

Persnally I would have given her a fine of £2.000,000 and she would be made to wear a tag with a curfew of 4pm until midnight for a year.
And court costs for her pwn case and her solicitors fees.

Slap them in the pocket where it hurts the most.

To a nice comfy mansion house open prison in kent.
