O.h.'s d.i.l. gave birth to a little boy early on St Patrick's Day, he was about 9 days early but weighed 8lbs - will be called Maxwell Oliver S.

My son's gf's little boy is also called Max, going to get confusing I can see lol Oh and new daddy's grandfather has a cat called Max too.

D.i.l. almost needed a transfusion so she and baby are being kept in for a day or two but o.h.'s ex went over (they live45 miles away) when the contractions started so she is staying on to look after the two and a half year old granddaughter. Not sure how she will cope with a new baby in the house, she seems to think it's a new toy coming and is very much used to ruling the roost.

Hope everything goes well for them when baby and Mum do get home, we are visiting on Friday afternoon as it's the only day o.h. finishes work by 12 noon. We will get the train, it's easier and they don't live far from the station.

It's the 4th boy to be born in my extended family since November.

Thanks all, our Friday afternoon visit is confirmed. Mum was home when o.h. rang last evening, granddaughter answered the phone but hasn't got the hang of talking after saying Hello. Will be lovely to see the new baby and gdaughter as well, as we haven't seen her since Nov 4th, just after her 2nd birthday.

O.h. got a card to send them, it said New Baby, a tiny little package all wrapped up with love. You can't send that I told him, he isn't exactly tiny at 8 lb and Mum won't think so either, lol Found a better card and a cute little stripey top with a hood, and animals appliqued to the front. His first hoodie lol


Have a lovely chocolate cake to take with us too
