Of course, you can also go to the GR Board called Find Ancestors .......

................ and ask for help from other members who love to hunt down ancestors ...... for themselves or for others!!

Try my suggestions, then go to Find Ancestors, if you get stuck :-D

You need to be looking at Parish Records for dates before 1837.

GR says it has Parish Records .............. and access to those apparently requires purchasing credits, even if you have Platinum membership.

I never use the records on here, so I do not know how good they are.

In fact, most of the records on GR are obtained from findmypast ............... GR's sister company under the BrfightSolid umbrella.

Most of the helpers consider that is much better to use the Mormon site ............. www.familysearch.org/

It is FREE

Also good is to have a sub in ancestry, which has lots of Parish Records, and other records going back before 1837.

You can either subscribe to ancestry, buy credits, or take out a free 2 week trial,

If you do the latter, it is very important to remember that you do have to provide a credit card number ....................... therefore you MUST make sure to cancel the free trial 3 or days before it is due to end. This is to make sure that the ancestry accounts department gets the information that you do not wish to continue ............. otherwise they will charge your card.

If you do the trial, it is best to make sure that you have all the names and events that you wish to research at hand, and the TIME to spend hours on ancestry, so that you can make best use of the free trial.
