It is used in N. Ireland and apparently brought over by the Planters many centuries ago.

Cunning, sly, two-faced, crafty - all of those. I find it is a great word.

Boggin is another - really dirty.

Also used by Scotland's Rabbie Burns who described mouse as “wee, sleekit, cowrin, timorous beastie”. :-D
