I remember the year you were born :-)

Rolling with the Stones and screaming at the Beatles (how sad is that) but seriously the old "Life begins at 40" is now life begins at 50 or even 60 so make the most of it. :-D

Suzanne you must have got espoused at a very young age!

Apparently Slash was brought up near me - have you ever seen him playing on the Chic track Le Freak live? Absolutely superb

My daughter liked JohnBovi.

Year you were born I was 17 and started work :-( :-( Had my first girlfriend ie went to pictures and held hands with the first girl. And got terrible cramp in my vain attempt to get my arm round her shoulder.

And I think it was all Del Shannon and Bobby Vee on the juke boxes and dansettes - but I stand to be corrected. And Mandy Rice Davies and Christine Keeler in newspapers - wow, that Christine Keeler was attractive.

And I already knew everything about anything - even in 1963 :-D

I think I had my first kiss round about the time you were born! The boy who delivered our milk walked me home from the coffee bar - but my Dad wouldn't let me see him again! :-(

I was two months old when you were born Suzanne so here goes

Great TV, Blue Peter with Valerie, John and Peter
The Banana Splits.
TOTPs
Tiswas
The Young Ones
OTT (see Shanes link :-D)
Friday and Saturday night live.
The Tube

Great music singers and groups and the clothing which went with it
Glam Rock
Punk/New Wave
Two Tone
New Romantic/synth/goth

and you could see groups play at smaller venues and see the whites of their eyes unlike groups/singers nowadays who play huge stadium venues.

Im reliving my youth next month seeing on two seperate occasions but still in smaller venues, Suggs and his one man show and Simple Minds :-D :-D :-D :-D

the start of the british beat boom

standing on the kop with my dad when they used to sing along to the records on the pa

realising that there was more to girls than that they didn't play football ;-)

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 21 Mar 2013 00:14

in m school if you had long hair(I DID) SOMEONE WOULD TAKE A LIGHTER TO IT JUST FOR A LAUGH,
We also had a ice cream van outside school, the big thing at the time was for the older girls to go round shoving ice cream cones in 1st years faces,i had my face covered in ice cream more than once, not good when your eyeing up the first yr heart throb.. but i cant remember having my head shoved down the pan though,so maybe it was just a brummie thing :-D :-D

oh i seem to have killed my thread plus several others in the last few days.

oh well never mind :-D

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 26 Mar 2013 09:05

No, it was Paula who killed your thread. She always does it - then innocently asks how do you kill a thread - on her own thread :-0 :-0 :-0. I do like her though - she is a Caldmore charmer - I'm a poet but don't know it.

Life is best at 48. Once you get beyond that (and I am 2 years and a bit beyond that now) life is no fun at all. In fact, reading threads and posting on Genes and facebook becomes the highlight of your day. ;-)

And absolutely nothing excels standing on the Kop and being urinated on. Life can only go downhill from there :-)
