Goodness, I realise how lucky I am with my GP's surgery. I've had a few health problems recently and my GP actually took her valuable time out to ring me a few days ago to see how I was feeling.

On the other hand, my bil, who has terminal cancer, and all the associated problems that go with that, whose surgery is 10 mins from mine, almost has to beg for an appointment when he rings them in pain or with a problem AND is made to feel a bit of a nuisance for ringing :-|

Quite understand your viewpoint ZZzzz.

Ours have gone back to the old days -

Walk-in surgery on Mondays and Fridays - 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Book in and sit and wait. Brilliant.

If they are stupid enough to ask my opinion they sure will get it.
When I had seen a Doctor quite a while ago he said I needed to see him the following week, the receptionist told me that nothing was available for 3 weeks whereupon I told her it was the Doctors request not mine, hey presto an appointment was there for Monday at 9 which suited me cos it meant I could be there before going to work.

I agree they need lessons in manners!!

They haven't been taught any manners, the next routine appointment is April FGS. They should take on more Doctors or do more to keep the ones they have I haven't seen the one I'm registered with for Months, and they tried to tell me just now that I should do just that, we'll hello I don't want to wait weeks for that. :-( :-(

The best that can be said is it could have been much worse.

The surgery is closed from 12 til 4 today for staff training, I hope they are taught to be more caring and not push or lie to patients about appointments and that receptionists are told they are NOT medics and all reminded that we pay their wages.

Not that I'm angry you understand.
