Went to see the funeral procession this morning.

JCB with the bucket down and the coffin on a pallet followed by his friends and family.

We did see a few elderly people walking up to the church in smart black as we went into the village and there were people in smart and sombre following the digger.There were also people in Carribean type shirts,reflective jackets and the end of the procession was a little bloke on a bike wearing a top hat and a jacket with a starfish on the back.

I'm guessing he was quite a character for people to give him that great send off.

I didn't know him but his ex-wife and his daughter are our carers.

He was a digger driver and his life revolved mostly around weed and alcohol. He had canabis motifs on at least one of his tributes.

He was one of a group with similar interests.

A bloke in the next village to us had his coffin taken to the crem on a skip lorry - well, he was the owner of the skip hire firm!

My brother in law's body was conveyed to the edge of the wood he was to be buried in, in a van, then it was taken to the burial site in a farm waggon pulled by the most grouchy horse in existence - well it was raining.
