I know a chip shop called Peyton's Plaice, a furniture shop called Hubbard's Cubbards, and a hair salon called Herr Kutz.

Hubby once had a doctor whose name was Dr R Sohl.
And some years ago we used to regularly drive past "Turdi's Restaurant", I kid you not! :-D :-D

Not too sure if it is still there but on Jamaica Road there used to be a shoe repair shop call 'R Soles' I kid you not. Well known in the area.

Have mentioned these before:

when I was in hospital for kidney stones, the male nurse who came to take a blood sample was called Nurse Blood and the doctor, who also happened to be my then newish neighbour, was Dr Howl !

Geordie in Norfolk,
That was probably De'ath & Son, a fairly common name in north east Essex and south Suffolk.
Two of my assistants when I worked in Colchester were a lady and her neice with that surname (maiden name in the case of the neice).
The road safety adverts at that time were "Keep death of the roads" and I ribbed them that they should surrender their licences.
