Written Daily Mails lead article for Monday. "Iranians plan to monopolise British gas supplies" with headline "Boom Town Rats" :-0

I can't see they can ration it, boilers need a certain pressure of gas to work so they can't turn the pressure down like they do with the water, they can't cut it off,

Example, my neighbor is in aus at the moment & we are looking in a couple of times a week, they've left the heating on low 24/7, if the gas was cut off boiler goes off pilot light out, when the gas comes back on no pilot light & no one there & a gas build up & boom.

PP. Just wickied this:
"The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) is an intergovernmental organization of 11 of the world's leading natural gas producers made up of Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. GECF members together control over 70% of the world's natural gas reserves, 38% of the pipeline trade and 85% of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) production. The three largest reserve-holders in the GECF – Russia, Iran and Qatar – together hold about 57% of global gas reserves."

So we depend on Qatar, Russia and Iran for our gas!!!

And isn't Chelski's Chairman something to do with Russian gas supplies. Just hope I get my gas from Trinidad and Tobago - I rather like them.

Our problem is that most of our gas comes from 'abroad' we are not able to sustain ourselves with home grown.

Do they need an excuse?

We might just be lucky. Warmer weather early next week.

I wonder if low stocks wil be the excuse to put in another inflation busting 10% or 20% increase next winter :-(

That confirms the 36 hour figure.

Has anyone else read that gas could be rationed if the cold weather goes on. We have something like 36 hours of gas left if everyone continues to use their heating at the rate they have been doing recently.
Isn't gas something we take for granted that there will be enough to go round. Apparently we don't have large enough containers to store it.
