Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 23 Mar 2013 14:53

Do you remember this sitcom from the 1970's? I was watching it last night, did any of you ever want to be like them?

I did I wanted to be just like Margo ;-)

We did and still do the good life in terms of veg / fruit growing and eggs, and used to rear our own meat.

I used to resemble Barbara - but only in terms of the clothes she wore :-D

Silly Sausage Report 23 Mar 2013 15:22

She did have a party frock as I remember K :-D

What job did Jerry do that Margo got to spend money as she did, they dressed for dinner and she'd float and sit about the house in an evening gown :-D

I'm not sure if it was ever made clear what he actually did - something in the city.
I loved it but always thought Fatima (Barbara) looked like she needed a good frock - something which Tom eventually remedied

Island

Island Report 23 Mar 2013 15:35

BC, I think Hayley might have wanted to float around as a lady of leeezhur all day, not actually look like Margo. 70s evening frocks. Lovely :-0 :-D

Margot Leadbetter is a wonderful role model. ;-)

Julia

Just as a little aside, but on a similar topic. Did anyone else watch the mother that had 12 children, the other night.
She home educated them, ran an online business, and still had time to make her own bread and cheese, and had chickens. Their ideal as a family is, in a couple of years to move to a farm and be totally self-sufficient, and did not rule out having anymore children.
Lawdy, lawdy, I was worn out just watching everything she did.

I also watched that programme Julia and how organised was she.
I hope they do get the farm but I also felt by the way she was talking
that she would be happy if she and her family had nothing to do with
the outside world. Could be wrong but just the impression I got.

Jerry Leadbetter rose to Senior Management at JJM through devious means,
and was after the Managing Directors Job.

Yes Emma, I rather thought that, myself. Very different to the other family that was featured.
