My second cousin just joined Ancestry and in 1 day found me. We are now friends on Facebook and have been exchanging photo's just seen her mum and dad (my aunt and uncle) who I loved but have not been been in contact with for 50 yrs. (sadly all passed away) She has traced her family on her mothers side, but I will be able to take her back to Edward lll and beyond on her grandfathers side. She only lives about 10 miles away so hopefully we can meet up.

Carol :-D :-D

That's great Carol :-D

I've been contacted by a couple of my Nan's sisters Grandchildren on Ancestry, like you, it was lovely seeing photo's.

Hope you get to meet soon :-D

Only problem being the oldest cousin I remember why my dad and his brother fell out, don't think cousins know so don't want to tell.

Carol :-(

And that's what makes it all worthwhile :-D

Lovely feeling isn't it, so happy for you :-)

I recently made contact with a second cousin in Australia and we have exchanged photos. Its so good so see family likenesses

It has even transpired that at one point I worked with and knew his sister, completely unaware that we were related. small world isn't it

That decision is yours. You could say you don't know - but not if your cousin reads your post lol, If you decide to delete I will too lol

I also know why my father and my uncle fell out. My cousin hasn't asked but he may do when my lovely uncle passes away - he is 93 y.o. I'll decide then whether the story needs to be told as it isn't a pleasant one.
