Susan10146857 Report 24 Mar 2013 12:14

The thread Ann put up was answered by some who didn't agree with her philosophy.

Edit...Yes...Philosophy......or perhaps beliefs on the situation.....better? ......not that it made any difference as to the meaning of what I have written :-)

I don't think it should have been put up in the first place but as a few had written their very valid views on there which argued the point of the RRing of the original thread I feel it is a shame that others couldn't see so that they too could debate whether those who RR should be insulted for having a different point of view or put up with the insults and allow others to decide what is or is not funny or relevant.

As I said before and I quote

It is not just this particular thread, it is every time a thread gets RRd. Along comes another with many berating whoever is thought to be the RRer because 'They' thought it was Hilarious or brilliant, as if only 'their' opinion counted.

Are they not annoyed at the RRer for exactly the same thing as they are doing.....deciding for others what is funny or not and resurrecting the RRd post to show they are not afraid of GR and 'will' impose their humour or distasteful comments on those who dislike it?

Because some find it extremely funny does not make it a fact that it actually was. it was RRd and upheld no matter what the opinions of those who would like to persuade us otherwise.

The question why? was asked, perhaps some did find it racist...Perhaps referring to a child being bitten by a dog in the context of a joke didn't go down too well with some people who find it tasteless. Perhaps the swear word used was felt to be ott......Who knows, but if GR upheld the decision to delete,

When Ann reposted asking why the original had been rr'd the 'b' word was not written in full as it was apparently on the original posting, so those of us offering suggestions as to why it might have been rr'd were looking for other reasons.

Those reasons were then dismissed as being of no value (not by Ann)

I am aware it is not a swear word and is in the dictionary, along with other words which are now used in an abusive manner which is why they offend people (IMO)

Re

"Next time, RR'r, kindly contact me first and discuss your concern"

If a post or thread is reported by a non-paying member, then it would not be possible for him or her to contact the original poster.
