Haven't had Brains Faggots for ages, but I do remember them to be a bit too salty.
My Dad used to like savoury ducks, but my Mam refused to cook them, as she thought they were made of sweepings from the butcher's shop floor!

About 10 years ago, Branes were marketting their Faggots outside a University, on the basis that if there is free food, students would flock to the van.

Although our sleepy-head student didn't get there in time, one of his friends did. One mouthful and he spat them out :-0

My gran made the dress she got married in, in 1925 (actually it's a dress & waistcoat in pale turquoise)- and there's lots of faggotting on that.

Had some 'Brains' faggotts the other week - they were horrible. No 'bite' - just a mushy soggy 'pap'. Not like they used to be.

Do you know, Carol, I seldom have any idea what I am eating. My OH never eats any type of offal, my son checks everything to make sure there are no mushrooms and daughter is mainly veggie.

I just tuck in and enjoy almost everything except apricots - which seldom appear anyway. :-D

Very popular in the Valleys. Tesco in Llansamlet near Swansea had them on special offer in restaurant (£4)) last week. And they were flying out.

And all chip shops and local restaurants (traditional ones, not those with a big hunk of processed spicy meat slowly revolving) serve faggots. Just ask for "ffags a slod" ;-)
