I looked at lots of houses and fell totally in love with the unsuitable, Out of 7 there is only now 1 in the running, there was 3. and yes I have fallen for the totally unsuitable.

A friend of OH´s said when we saw him on Wednesday if I couldn´t say yes straight away then I hadn´t found the right house and to keep looking. He could be right.

I have a few more lined up ..boy oh boy what a headache :-S

Uzzi you will find somewhere even if it takes a little longer. The important thing is not to grab at something because you have to, take your time.

Wisechild you are so right and I have to weigh up ,my love of solitude to not only my need for company but my mothers needs of company.

I have fallen head over heals in love with a house. and even though I know the house will work, the area is so isolated which is not right . Nobody could believe the house it is so perfect, just isolated.

House hunting is driving me mad,

Uzzie, I hope you enjoy looking at all the lovely houses & find one that ideally suits you.
Can I just say I think if it´s going to be your permanent home, you need to be reasonably near civilisation in case there comes a time when neither of you can drive & also considering the now astronomical cost of petrol in Spain compared with what it was a few years ago.
As my friend keeps pointing out to me, you may also in the future need an ambulance & a 30 minute journey is quite long.
OH & I reluctantly left our house near the beach a couple of years ago & I must admit that it´s wonderful to be able to walk to the amenities (while I can still walk :-0 :-0). I tend to forget that I am not going to be as fit & active in 10 years time as I am now..

Thanks Liz I will update after I have visited but I think I know that property is too far from shops. I need to be able to reach a shop and back with in 30mins. Mother and Mutts.

I've got butterflies for you Uzzi, but I know it's going to be a hectic time for you. That villa is lovely but no good if you are too far from civilisation (shops, etc)

Having looked at dozens of properties over 2 years when I was last on the move, mid 80s with a young child in tow, I know how stressful things can get.

Hope the sale of your Mum's house goes through ok so you have no worries on that score.

I had arranged to see an estate agent in the morning to view 3 properties, I found out today we are seeing another in the afternoon to view another 3. OH wants to go to the opening of his mates new cafe/bar and we have to be back by 6pm ish to collect Epi from her babysitter. It is a large area that we are looking over between La Manga, San Javier, Las Palas and Tallante. Now that will not mean anything to most of you but believe me it´s a lot of running around. Mind I get to see my 5bed/2bath with pool house, that I will probably have to reject because it is isolated :-(

Then Thursday I have to take mother out for lunch, and show her all the properties we have seen.

Friday OH has the day off so we have decided to take a drive out and about to look at villages and travel times.

As much as I am sighing about it all I have to own up to being a little tiny wee bit excited. Part of me is so very scared to look too soon in case Mums sale falls through but the other part knows I have to look and discount because if the sale goes through as planned we should complete in a month :-0 and I need to be able to move forward soon after.

So Busy Days here we come.
