Well done Shirley and I hope you will soon be pain free. I have never done an on line shop because I haven't needed to. Daughter in law often does shop on line though. I do like to shop for myself though and am a bit like geordie in N in that I quite enjoy it. We go together and have a coffee first. However if the time comes that we can't manage it we'll shop on line. :-)

I have a friend who will only use online shopping, she hates supermarkets. I'm just the opposite - I love it! I don't stick to just one, but will go to about 3 at a time. Browsing the shelves, looking at new products and label reading are pleasures to me, and every packet of meat and individual fruits and vegetables have to be examined!
Crikey, I must come accross as a real saddo! However, as in Shirley's case, if I couldn't get there, I would definitely sign up!

Shirley, I had a similar fall to yourself just prior to Christmas and hurt the whole of my left side then three days later sciatica set in, talk about a double wammy :-0 a social team moved in, raised my armchair, measured me for a walking stick and arranged for a nurse to come in and take blood to ensure all was well, finally I had a scan because the doctor suspected a fractured hip!, pleased to say the scan proved negative but even now I am still suffering. On my massive bruising I used witch hazel which helped considerable, my grannies old and tried remedy :-)
I have shopped on-line at Tesco for many a year and find their food to be of excellent quality, would not shop elsewhere..
Here's to us both getting back to normal, whatever normal means :-D

Shirley, glad your shopping was a success.

Now....... does your local chemist deliver? lol

Get a tube of Hirudoid cream or gel.

Absolutely wonderful if you have a bruise.

:-)

Thanks All am walking a it better still cant bend very much and getting up from the chair is agony but the bruise after spreading alarmingly seems now to be turning colour so is dispersing. Had to ring NHS direct cos couldn't get my doc or nurse to look at it or give me advice.l was told get yourself to A& E at the Medway Hospital NOO I cant drive or leave hubby on his own to spend 8 hours up there to be told nothing . Was worried I may get a blood clot and was thinking "She popped her clogs cos she had a fall and got a clot !!

The NHS direct was very good I told them what had happened ,answered questions and was told a clinical nurse would ring me back in 10mins to 2 hours cos they were busy , 10 mins later a lovely nurse rang me and we went through it all and she gave me very good advice on what to looks for etc and where to go if any symptoms occurred ,was very reasuring.

Am on the mend which is the main thing but did give an insight into when I cant drive anymore

Only shopped for groceries twice online from Tescos but was very pleased with the service. They do store items I have bought on a list, so this must make it much easier for frequent users, rather than having to scroll down each time to find the goods they need.

Hope you are better soon Shirley and can get out and about.

Only thing is you cant get deli counter items was told cos the orders are picked overnight. I had to get prepacked Ham & black pudding but did get all the offers as far as I can see, PLUS on a wed you have look out for use by dates as bread in particular often expires the next day,but everything has good expiry on it so maybe online orders only get the newer stock

Am impressed. Did say a while ago to hubby when he had to give up driving that when I have to as well then theres always online. As long as we can get out tho its good exercise to take and a change of scenery from the same four walls.

It would probably cost you more in fuel etc. to drive to Sainsbury and choose you own shopping too.

I go to Aldi andLidl every week because it is often the only place I do go at present but do a big Quorn shop on-line a couple of times a year, especially during Vegetarian Week when it is usually half price in both the big supermarkets.

I hope you'll soon feel better Shirley

I went to Sainsbury's early this morning and it was very quiet walking around except for having to steer round all the trollies of on line order picking.
Practically everyone I know have a home delivery now and I am tempted. They had 25% off clothes etc today and I do like a wander.

I will just add that it was absolutely freezing in there, colder than it was outside

Just to add well done to you

The important thing is that you have found the ease of buying groceries on line.
I hope your injuries heal very soon

As I can't drive at the mo cos I had a fall last week and and tore the muscles in my right thigh and got a ginormous black bruise covering the bum to the knee I was oh my how do we get shopping ?

SIL does hers online from Tescos and even tho she can now drive again she said its not worth the aggro,

So sat down last evening and plowed through Sainsbury ordering.took a while and forgot some things even tho I mentally walked around our local Savacentre. But did it !! And got back in and added forgotten items

Its just all been delivered. Good £3.95 well spent
:-D
