lol Scozz does this mean you will be going commando until Tuesday?
Sounds as though they are doing a thorough job though, which is good, It is amazing what those machines suck up, I know from when a friend of ours had a flood in his basement flat. He had humidifiers running for 5/6 wks but his water had been 2ft deep!! and well soaked into floorboards and wooden skirting.
You have some resilience I would have reached for the whisky before now and some ear plugs
Hope you get it all sorted soon
:-)

It's not really funny, but I have to laugh or I'd cry.
OH went upstairs....... asked "where's the furniture?"
Meaning ~ MY chest of drawers.
We found it. In the walk-in wardrobe!
I don't know how the carpet guys managed to get it in there, but they will be the ones to get it out again.
The problem is......... ALL my underwear & Tshirts are in there....... and I can't open the drawers.
:-( :-(

No wet feet, because he got new golf shoes at Christmas, so today was their first time out........... and they didn't help, because he didn't play very well :-)
He went to the shops on the way home.......... brought me a box of roses (chocolates, not flowers)........ I think he's crawling lol
The carpet men have been. We have ten (yes 10) big noisy sucky machines! They will be back on Tuesday with a carpet layer/fixer, and we have to leave the machines on until then. Fine, but three of them keep throwing the circuit breakers & switching themselves off!
Meanwhile, we have to live with the big noisy sucky machines. We'll be using the spare room for the next few nights, as less water got in there, so we can switch off the machine in there overnight.
Go in the rooms with the machines & it's like being in a wind tunnel.
The carpet guys took away the big rug, they can dry it out at their workshop. The other small rug has to be taken to the rug specialist!
If anyone asks me if we had a nice Easter.................. NO!
:-(
I need chocolate........ where's that box of roses????
Forget the chocolate.......... I want a whisky :-D

Well, he must have gone in wet shoes lol!
Must have been a nightmare to see all that water and to be left to sort it out yourself now is a bit mean. Maybe on the other hand, he just needs to vent his anger on the golf balls.
Hope you can get everything dried out ok and it hasn't rained before you got the heavy rug inside again.

Grrrrrrrrr!
I'm home by myself, waiting for the carpet man.
Himself has gone to golf.
There's a HUGE rug outside, and if it starts to rain I can't move it!
Thinking awful thoughts...... like he can get his own dinner!
:-P

That was my first thought Lolly! They didn't do any damage at all.
The plumber just left. We have the water back on.
If any of you have a mixer tap with a flexible hose ~ get it checked! NOW! Ours sprung leaks in 8 places!
The electrician has just pulled up outside, and the carpet assessor will be here at 11.30.
I have soggy feet, and a mountain of wet towels to wash.

Not nice, not nice at all but as you say say better this week than next!!
Is this anything to do with your workmen on roof?
Have you had the electrician in to check your power supply is safe?
Keep your chin up and Errols right start planning on new colour schemes and soft furnishings :-)

Good advice Errol, thankyou. :-D
It could be worse.
We're going away next weekend.......... I hate to think what would would have found coming home on Sunday night, if the pipe burst next Friday night!
I'm going back to bed.............. I hope the bed doesn't fall through the floor.
OH is still taking photo's.

place the filter jug under the drip and then it will be double filtered.
Take my advice, do not dwell on how it is now but think of how it may be later when the insurance has paid for everything - nice new paint etc etc
Every negative is a positive in disguise

and it's raining.... inside our house :-(
I woke up at 4am to hear OH using veRy colourful language.
What are you doing?
No answer........... so I got out of bed......... and got wet feet :-(
Arrrrrrrrrrghhhh!!!
A pipe in the bathroom burst.
Water all over upstairs (4 bedrooms) and running down the stairs like a waterfall. The room under our bedroom is soaked, and the ceiling in that room is dripping like rain.
The garage is flooded, all OH's tools (including power tools) are soaked. His golf shoes are full of water!
I've already 'phoned the insurance company (thank goodness for 24 hour service!).
Everything is covered, $500 excess....... but we have to pay the plumber's bill to fix the pipe. Weird.
The water is turned off, we've switched off the power to half the house......... but we had enough water in the filter jug to make a pot of coffee.
We've mopped up what we can, taken rugs up, and now have towels all over the floors.
Excuse me......... I'm going to finish my coffee and then have a good cry :-(
