Baby Anna Poppy is here, weighing in at 8 lbs - 10 ozs...:))

Seems like this pregnancy has been going on forever:))
All safe and well, thank goodness:)

Did anyone see in the papers a baby boy born in UK weighing over 15lbs...!!!!!! what...ouch and double ouch, and a natural birth too, more ouches!!

Congratulations Granny Jude, and welcome Anna Poppy, (pretty name). A good weight.

15lb 7 oz George was born in Gloucester Royal. Mum was back shopping in Tesco the following day, George was in intensive care first in Gloucester Royal, then Bristol as he was so big that he got stuck and his chest was compressed. He wasn't breathing when born and it took 20 minutes to revive him (they thought they had lost him). He seems to be ok now, he is six and a half weeks now and already holds his head up, he looks huge though, he has to have regular tests to see if he meets the normal milestones.

Glad there were no complications with your little one.

How lovely Jude, what a great Easter oresent. I am so glad Anna Poppy has arrived safely and a good weight too, bigger than our Maxwell who was 8 lbs but who didn't feel or look that big when I saw him at 5 days old. Is she a Friday's child, like me,loving and giving and or a Saturday's child, like my son, works hard for a living? I love the names, Anna was my maternal grandmother's name altho I never got to meet her.

Congratulations to all of you who must be over the moon with a baby girl, maybe the tide has turned now so it will be a run of girls as it was all boys for our extended family recently.

Can't imagine how it must feel to give birth to a 15 lb baby except as you say, ouch and more ouches! And to be shopping the next day? Give the girl a medal! Maybe she was out buying bigger sized clothes and nappies lol

Take care and enjoy your new granddaughter, I know you will. Lovely news to pass on to Jean too
