I think that was to ensure sure she was actually dead as she was frightened of being buried alive ( I always believed blood doesn't run post mort anyway)

But why indeed have to whisper when they were the only two in the room?

I find it's a bit disjointed.

Does anyone else think the boy Bert could be autistic, as he answered the teacher literally each time a question was roared at him in temper? Sounded as tho he was being cheeky but it's the way autistic people would respond.

I don't understand why the Methodist girl has such a hold over folk, has she got some sort of special role there in the village?

Wonder what will happen next week?

So halfway through episode 3 we discover she is the Methodist ministers daughter!! maybe it was mentioned before and I missed it :-S

Starting to get more interesting but still feel the editing is disjointed

Would like the characters to have been built up more, with a little background.

There are bits of The Village that confuse me too.
However,
Being the Minister's daughter was apparent in week 1
In week 2 she was at the Big House for dinner when it was mentioned that she was Methodist ( the bit about table wine, temperance and the Suffragette Movement)
The entire Village seem to be Methodist themselves, ( they all attended the Sunday Service) and I got confused.
I looked it up last night
Not all Methodists are teetotal, but they encourage abstinence or responsible drinking.

Sparkly
It did occur to me that Bert might have Aspergers or another form of Autism.
I thought it when he asked his teacher if he had " grown taller "

I did suggest autism in my previous post, as Bert has answered several questions or responded to remarks literally. I thought Autism altho it wouldn't have that label then, would it?

I am still finding ti a little difficult to follow, which is unusual for me, I can normally get to grips with a cast and plot before now, but this one is a bit too confusing.

Terrible that the baby was taken from his mother in the way it was.
