Lupins from indoor propagator, pricked out and put into a cold greenhouse. Fingers crossed they will survive. Have lots to do in the garden, still trying to catch up from last year. Lots of things in bud, Acers still wrapped in fleece, looks like they wont be unwrapped until May. We may miss spring this year....roll on summer. :-D

We haven't got anything in the allotment yet. The soil is still rough dug from the winter, OH hasn't even rotovated it yet because it is so wet. The only thing I have done is to tie in the Raspberry canes.

It is so cold that practically nothing is sprouting in the garden

I spoke too soon, OH is down in the greenhouse potting on. :-D

I've still got snow down one side of my garden :-(

Not going to venture into the garden 'till that awful cold Easterly wind stops, the snowdrops are doing quite well without me, and the daffs are only just beginning to wake up.
Hubby is the real gardener here, but he is having fun installing our new kitchen, making a mess, and generally driving me nuts. :-|

AnnC yes the wind is really cutting here. OH was going out in the garden after getting a lot done yesterday but shanged his mind and is watching footbell instead. The Daphne would be very acceptable :-)

It's been warm and sunny here over the weekend. Today it's freezing again.

a job for tomorrow methinks

Ann - just been talking to him wot lives over the back of you - he was going to build a raised veg bed but like me, changed his mind - the Daphne is in full bloom at the minute and will be for some time so if he gets down here I'll send some back with him so you can have a smell!!!!

We have small 'tot' plants in the conservatory (lightly heated), and also on the bedroom windowsill. We have seedlings in the conservatory and greenhouse (Unheated but the seedlings are in small heated propogators and growing slowly.) Yesterday OH decided to put the potatoes in the potato grow bag as it was very sunny and quite warm, today it is really cold again so I hope they will take a deep breath and survive.

Our problem is a holiday looming in May when we normally get everything out in the garden before we go so that our long suffering neighbours don't have too much to look after.

Ann, you made me laugh there, picturing you covered in the snow..

Wend., was hoping you would answer.t At least it is not only me.
Will have to set the seeds in the bedrooms I think, to start them off.
Weather not much better for the rest of the week, either.

Morning Julia and Margaret, sorry afternoon (how time flies). I'm worried too, especially as I shall soon be out of action for a couple of weeks, but Margaret's post is a comfort, I must say.

I've got all my seedlings growing in my heated conservatory.

am just about to venture into the garden to prune some rose bushes and attack a bay tree which has got way out of hand - will have to get a ladder though - managed to get an inroad into it when the snow came - the weight of the snow bent the branches down to the ground - great I thought, down with the loppers, lopped off a large branch - all the snow came off and I ended up looking literally like a snowman - if I disappear for a while I have probably fallen into the tree :-D

My oh is a great believer in the expression..... "Things will catch up even if sown 4/6 weeks late...." Seems to work too. so don't worry.

Similarly, it is far too cold to set seeds in the unheated greenhouse yet, my health permitting.
I usually set my seeds around March 17th, give or take a day or two. I am in despair
What is the situation where you live, regarding this problem.
