I've just had a look at Scozz link :-0

Those items make my rice cooker look positively essential!

Egg on a stick looks disgusting :-0

I got one of those garlic peelers free with a garlic set at a Christmas market last year.. Can't tell you if it works because I gave it away.

That's what I like...Alternative uses for 'useless' items.
It reminds me of a really old thread of mine, which I've just found........

I use a rice cooker - much better than a saucepan I find.
I also use a garlic press - I prefer it to using a knife.

OH was given one of those egg cuber gadgets. Why would you only want one cubed egg? It went to the charity shop still in it's box :-0 :-D

I can't think of any silly gadgets off hand but silly terms I can - pan fried, oven baked......

Ive got a electric boiled egg cooker does upto six eggs at a time,

one time I was boiling two eggs in a Glass saucepan thingy and forgot about them, became aware of this overheated aroma and found two charred eggs in a near redhot saucepan......

Ah! things with sharp edges and points............fascinating!!
somewhere theres a gadget like a cocktail shaker, you put in your egg, flour milk etc, and shake like mad.......... beware!! make sure its is fully closed and snapped shut, else you get batter mixture all over.........

A plasic thing that is supposed to be used to microwave eggs.......no instructions came with it though :-S

It is however brilliant when making playdough shapes or sandhills :-D

I have a useless kitchen 'gadget'...

My OH ;-), he is not too familiar with the running of a kitchen.. Still doesn't know which drawers 'things' go in.
Perhaps I have spoilt him over the last 33 years....

Love him to bits all the same :-)

PS: my son bought me a plug in wine cooler - for 1 bottle.... :-D. Still in its box

I'm happy to say I don't have any of these:

http://food.ninemsn.com.au/entertainingideas/295164/probably-pointless-kitchen-tools.slideshow

I also don't have (or need)

An electric rice cooker (what's wrong with a saucepan?)
A garlic crusher (what's wrong with a knife?)
An electric egg cooker (what?)
And loads of other gimmicky gadgets!

What's the silliest gadget you've seen?

:-D
