glad your feeling better.

my husband has had pernicious anaemia since the age of 40 (HES 51 now) he also has a vitamin B12 injection either monthly or three monthly depending on the levels ,pernicious anaemia is common in people over 70 about 1 in 6,000 will have this kind of anaemia, the problems start when you are young and have the condition. :-)

AnninGlos Report 11 Apr 2013 10:49

Good news Joyce, at least you are now reassured it is not anything worse. Just take it easy and keep taking the medication and hopefully you will be at that wedding.

Hello Suzanne
i have panicious Anaemia it was the specilist in the hospital who told me about the iron ,and thats why i had the two tests with the camera so they can decide what to do i told the specilist i had this since i was young girl when i had my first baby i had to have 3 blood tranfusions 6 pints of blood followed by iron injections, but he said it was,nt that this started in 2008 i sleep all day and night only mybe waking up to get something to eat,im asleep when OH comes home from work yesterday i had anurse come to see me as i have one every day then about hour or so later i had the head nurse ,as the other nurse told her she thought i did,nt look well i was very white so the head nurse came out to see me ,she ask if there was anything she could do for me i said yes get me acleaner as my docter said i cant do the housework because of my bones and the pain im in ,but i told her i wont get it as they said my hubsand can do it when he comes home frome work ,they did gave it to me once for 1 hour aday for 6th month then it stopped,i also went yesterday to have my b12 injection which i have had over 50 now and hospital has also put me on vit D tablets anyway i have now got the flu so im off to bed feel terrable and thank you for your concern

Suzanne Report 4 Apr 2013 21:58

hello dutch

i was quite alarmed by your last post, you say you have no iron at all in your blood?

i think maybe you have misunderstood your doctor, if you had no iron in your blood at all ,you would be in a critical condition in hos and not able to post on genes, maybe you should have another talk with him :-)

AnninGlos Report 4 Apr 2013 12:51

Yes, sorry I should have said that too, was in too much of a hurry, had washing to sort.

Brian what a worry for you both, I am sorry to hear that, I do hope your wife can get an explanations soon and it can be sorted.

AnnCardiff Report 4 Apr 2013 12:17
